Start of 2026 School Year
Start of 2026 - 2027 School Year
Updated July 23, 2026:
Dear Central Elementary Families,
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we worked to determine the best path forward following the significant water damage to Central Elementary caused by the July 17 rainstorm during the school's roof replacement project.
This afternoon, the Nampa School District Board of Trustees approved temporarily relocating Central Elementary to the Centennial Learning Campus (formerly Centennial Elementary School) for the beginning of the 2026–2027 school year. While repairs may be completed before Christmas, remaining at one location through Christmas Break will provide students and staff with a consistent learning environment and avoid the disruption of moving mid-semester. Our goal is to return to the Central Elementary campus after Winter Break once repairs are complete and the building is ready for occupancy.
To allow time to prepare classrooms, technology, and student services at the temporary location, the Board also approved a revised start date for Central Elementary:
Grades 1–5: Wednesday, August 12, 2026
Kindergarten: Monday, August 17, 2026
The Central Elementary front office will open at the Centennial Learning Campus on Monday, August 3, to assist families with enrollment, registration, and back-to-school questions. Families should continue using the same Central Elementary phone number.
Additional information regarding transportation, Meet & Greet, arrival and dismissal procedures, and other back-to-school details will be shared soon.
We know this is an unexpected change, and we sincerely appreciate your patience and partnership as we work to provide every Central student with a safe, welcoming, and successful start to the school year.
Sincerely,
Dr. Gregg Russell
Superintendent

Principal, Central Elementary School
