Staff Appreciation Week

At Central, we see every staff member as an integral part of student success-from teachers to aides, custodians to cafeteria crew.  This week is usually fun-filled with lots of activities to show appreciation to our entire staff. We are including a couple of ideas and would like to invite you and your student to participate as well. We have learned that a little bit of appreciation goes a LONG way, and these forms of appreciation are completely free!

  • Monday, May 6th: Student Gratitude - Take a few minutes this weekend with your students to find out what they appreciate most about the adults that they interact with at Central. It could be anyone - Classroom teacher, Specials Teachers, Custodian, Cook, etc. We celebrate everyone! Encourage/help them to write a short note of gratitude or favorite memory about that staff member that they can bring with them to school on Monday.
  • Tuesday, May 7th: School Spirit - Show your school spirit by wearing a Central T-shirt, or wear our school colors of Maroon & Grey.
  • Wednesday, May 8th: Parent Gratitude - Take a moment to express the gratitude you feel towards your child's teacher through personal notes, emails, or messages on ParentSquare acknowledging their hard work and dedication.
  • Thursday, May 9th: Throwback Thursday- This is especially great for adults and older students. Write a letter of appreciation for a teacher that you or your student had historically that made an impact. Try to reach out to a teacher that inspired you when you were younger. Post about them on social media and acknowledge the impact they had on you.
  • Friday, May 10th: Dress Like A Teacher Day Students always get a kick out of accidentally twinning with their teacher...Now's their chance to plan it ahead of time and go all out
A teacher's day is rarely the same from one day to the next. From planning engaging lessons, handling interruptions, cleaning up messes, helping students solve social conflicts, and gracefully navigating the ever-changing emotions of students. They do it all daily, and rarely complain. They know they are helping to educate some amazing future leaders and that makes it all worthwhile!
