Mrs Taylor * EL Instructor
Welcome parents and students! My name is Courtney Taylor and I teach fourth grade here at Central Elementary. I have worked at this school for over 10 years and absolutely love it! I have a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Bilingual Education from Boise State University (Go Broncos!) and another Master's degree in Education Leadership from the University of Idaho. I love what I do and strive to keep current on best practices to increase student learning.

In addition to my teaching responsibilities, I also share lead teacher responsibilities with Kaylee Verstoppen (5th grade) and am an active member of the PTA. Creating a sense of community within the school and sharing that out into our larger community is a passion of mine.

I have two wonderful children who also come to Central every day. In my spare time, I love to bake and really enjoy making cakes for all occasions. I enjoy drawing ,painting, and sewing, pretty much anything crafty. I also love to stay active by playing softball, swimming, and running. In my down time my kids and I enjoy curling up with a good book. I love anything SciFi and Fantasy. Star Wars, Harry Potter, and Lord of the Rings are some of my favorites.

I believe learning is a social and active activity. In my classroom students learn to work together to advance their learning through discussions, projects, and group activities. I have high academic and behavioral expectations for the students in my classroom. I strive to instill personal responsibility and work with students to produce high quality work that is demonstrative of their abilities and growth as learners.
